MuteBoard® 3 Soundproof Panels

Soundproof panels are a rapid and slimline solution to noisy neighbours. MuteBoard® 3 comprises a high-density Soundproof plasterboard layer backed by a layer of mass-loaded vinyl and a layer of closed cell foam. Closed cell foam works to ‘de-couple’ the soundproof panel from the existing wall, preventing the transfer of vibrations. The mass-loaded vinyl adds a sound-dampening quality.

MuteBoard® 3 can be installed on Masonry, Stud or metal frame walls and offers excellent noise reduction for its slim design of just 25mm.

Soundproof Panels UK Delivery

Our soundproof panels are shipped on a pallet. Unlike others, we hold stock of all of our products ready to dispatch same day Monday to Friday. We also offer next-day delivery for orders placed before 1 pm Monday to Friday.

MuteBoard® 3 is our readymade, hand laminated acoustic panel that can be easily installed direct to brick and block walls and can also be fitted to improve standard stud walls both of timber and metal frameworks. Each board requires multiple fixings per board and is an excellent space-saving method for soundproofing against low-level noise at home or to soundproof an office, and it is best used when airborne noises are an issue which includes the reduction of low to middle volumes of conversations or reduction of television usage.

MuteBoard® 3 should not be used to soundproof a ceiling, as the blue cross-linked foam is not suitable for a ceiling installation where fire regulations are concerned. We have a range of ceiling soundproofing options available as alternatives. With Fire Regulations, you will want to discuss the use of our acoustic materials with Building Control so that they can be signed off appropriately.

Soundproofing upgrades are available for MuteBoard® 3 to help improve the overall acoustic performance, but it is always recommended to use acoustic mineral wool between any adjacent cavities to reduce ‘flanking transmission’. Sound will always find its way to an open cavity if a clear path permits it, going around the MuteBoard® 3 and appearing in a new location.

MuteBoard® 3 is only loosely bonded to keep each component together, ready for fixing – it cannot adhere to the wall with adhesive, for this reason, the mass would compromise the safety of installation. Only mechanically fix MuteBoard®.

The blue paper finish will want to be facing into the room; if using a tapered edge, it will be the tapered edge facing into the room.

If you place an order online it’s likely we will call to discuss delivery to make sure it runs as smoothly as possible. Deliveries can arrive on a large vehicle.
